Malta Knights invested

In the southern half of Wales, there are normally only three opportunities each year to see brethren admitted to the Order of St John of Jerusalem Palestine, Rhodes and Malta.

It is a most impressive and colourful ceremony and it was conducted with distinction in June by Temple Slebech Preceptory of Provincial Body Guards No 602 at their new home in Bridgend Masonic Hall.

Led by their Eminent Preceptor, E.Kt. John Bryant, seven members of the Order of the Temple – drawn from various preceptories across Wales – were admitted to this important Degree in fine style.

Some 40 Knights, attended what was a very happy meeting in the presence of the Provincial Prior for Monmouth and South Wales, R.E. Kt. Dr. Paul Richard Calderwood, and the Provincial Sub-Prior, E. Kt. David Francis Court.

More Congratulations

In addition, it was also an occasion to congratulate members of the province who had recently received Great Rank appointments in May at the meeting of the Great Priory in London

In the photo, with the Provincial Prior and Sub-Prior behind them, they included - (left to right): E. Kt. Peter Gilbert, V.E. Kt. Naunton Liles and E.Kt. Terry Jones who were appointed as Past Great Aide-de-Camp, Past Great Registrar and Great Standard Bearer (VB) respectively.

Great Ranks were also conferred in May upon E. Kt. George Royle and E. Kt. Garry Rosser - who were appointed as Past Great Chamberlain and Past Great Captain of Guards respectively.

Later this year all of them will be invested with similar ranks at the meeting of the Great Priory of Malta in London.

Warmest congratulations to them all.
